I spent last week in Oregon visiting various wineries and the Oregon Coast. It felt wonderful to spend some time in the place I called home for seven years. Even though I’ve been away for a bit, this place feels familiar to me. I love that feeling.
We kept a home base in Portland, and one morning we drove out to the coast when we heard on the morning news it was going to be sunny and cloud-free. Ninety minutes and one $170 speeding ticket later, we stopped in the adorable coastal town of Cannon Beach, parked our car, and made our way by foot to the ocean. It made for a stunning, albeit chilly, landscape.
The Oregon Coast perfectly exemplifies the natural beauty Oregon exudes. Trees hug the hillsides while waves crash against massively sized rocks. Often stormy and rarely sunny, it’s the kind of place you wear a full wetsuit and not a bathing suit.
There are boutiques, candy stores, coffee shops, and restaurants dotting each pedestrian friendly street, making for a delicious leisurely day.
Here’s a peek at the coast through my camera lens.
