Architecture Photography

Architecture Photography is so much more than taking a simple photo of a room. It’s an artistic representation of a meticulously designed and curated space. A great architectural picture should leave a viewer in awe, inspired by the design and how humans interact and move through it. Fully appreciative of the attention to detail and eye for design. In order to capture the perfect image, a Dallas architecture photographer may spend hours, or even a full day or two, trying to capture the absolute perfect photography images. A lot of the time, the photographer will take time to meticulously take multiple pictures of a space. Ensuring every corner and wall is properly lit. They’ll then invest hours in editing and compositing the pictures to create one perfect photo.

Architecture photographers pay close attention to detail to ensure that every inch of the photo is near perfect. This commitment of time and talent usually costs a pretty penny because you’re investing in a publication-worthy photo (or photos) that truly showcases the beauty of the space.

The Architecture photos above are ones I captured for jewelry brand Gorjana, when I photographed their new store in Southlake, Texas earlier this year.

Real Estate Photography

The purpose of Real Estate Photography is to provide potential Dallas buyers a sense of a real estate listing. While you absolutely want to showcase the property in its best possible light, typically, Real Estate Photographers don’t pay quite as close attention to detail. They move through spaces quickly, shoot with an ultra wide angle lens, with all the lights on. It doesn’t matter that the spacing between chairs may be off or a photo on the wall is slightly crooked because potential homebuyers are looking at the bigger picture. That being said, the photos should still give potential buyers an idea of the space and its functionality and, ideally be enticing enough to inspire a call to schedule a viewing. However, I’ve found that real estate is so high in demand that homes sell well, even when the photos are awful. Real estate photos are typically taken with all the overhead lights on, and the tripod height tends to be much higher than Interior or Architecture photography.

Typically speaking, Real Estate Photography needs a pretty quick turnaround. Homeowners and agents want to get their listings up and running ASAP, meaning there isn’t a lot of time for long shoots and intensive editing. Additionally, Real Estate Photography delivers a higher number of photos since you want to feature every room in the house, including walk-in closets, basements, and laundry rooms. A typical Real Estate shoot delivers between 25 and 35 photos. While Real Estate photographers are typically more affordable than Interior & Architecture photographers, your photos will look similar to the ones found below, which are real estate photos I sourced from Pexels.com

Interior Design Photography

Similarly to architectural photography, interior design photography is all about capturing every detail perfectly to showcase the beauty of the room’s design. Typically speaking, interior design photography is used to showcase a designer’s work and to highlight decorative items, cohesive artistic choices, and functionality so they can create a portfolio of work they’re proud to show off to potential clients. The photographer can capture the atmosphere and energy of a space by paying close attention to angles, compositions, and lighting. Photoshoots can take hours or days to get the perfect shots. Additionally, editing can be intensive in order to represent a space as beautifully as possible.

The images below are ones I’ve captured for my interior design clients over the past year. My focus with my interior design photography work is to create light focused imagery that showcases color and design details as beautifully as possible.
