ABOUT STACY MARKOW

Design Comes First

I believe great interior photography isn't about creating dramatic photographs, it's about creating photographs that allow exceptional design to speak for itself.

Every project begins with curiosity. I want to understand what inspired the space, which details matter most, and how the imagery will ultimately support the people who created it. That understanding shapes every decision, from the walkthrough and production planning to the final composition and lighting.

My goal isn't to create images that follow today's trends. It's to create photographs that feel just as relevant years from now as they do on the day they're delivered.

MY STORY

A Different Path to Photography

Photography wasn't my first career.

Before becoming a photographer, I spent years working in hospitality, eventually earning my certification as a sommelier. Hospitality taught me to anticipate needs before they were spoken, while wine taught me that craftsmanship is often found in the smallest details. Both continue to influence how I work today.

When I discovered architectural and interior photography, I found a profession that combined everything I enjoy most: problem-solving, collaboration, technical precision, and an appreciation for thoughtful design.

Today I partner with interior designers, architects, custom home builders, and hospitality brands to create imagery that serves a purpose beyond simply documenting a finished project. Every photograph is created with marketing, publications, portfolios, and long-term business growth in mind.

BEYOND THE CAMERA

A Few Things About Me

Outside of photography, I'm usually planning my next vacation, spending time in nature, or creating memories with loved ones and friends. I have a habit of noticing small details; whether it's the texture of a burl wood dresser, a beautifully proportioned archway, or a restaurant with lighting that's just right.

Friends would probably tell you I'm equal parts meticulous and curious. I enjoy understanding how things are made, why certain design decisions work, and finding quiet beauty in places others might walk past.

A garden scene framed by a metal arbor covered in green leaves and yellow flowers. Beyond the arbor is a pathway lined with flowering plants, leading to a fountain with a statue, surrounded by neatly trimmed hedges and trees.
View of Rome skyline with ancient ruins, a bell tower, statues, blooming pink trees, and people walking in the foreground on a sunny day.

LETS GET TO WORK

Ready to Create Something Together?

Whether you're preparing a project for publication, building your portfolio, or documenting years of thoughtful work, I'd be honored to help tell its story through photography created with the same care and intention that went into the design itself.
