Q: Tell us who you are and what your interior design studio is all about:

Hi, I’m Brittney Lane, the owner and lead designer at Brittney Lane Interiors. Our studio focuses on classic interiors—spaces that never go out of style. When we design a home, we steer clear of trends and instead choose finishes and materials that have stood the test of time. We want each space to feel timeless and personal, always reflecting the homeowner’s lifestyle and unique story.

Q: What drew you to interior design?

I’ve always been drawn to homes. When I was younger, going to the Parade of Homes was one of my favorite things to do. I’ve also always been a creative person, though I didn’t fully realize it until recently.

“Looking back, every hobby or passion I had was some form of art or creative expression”

Q: Describe your signature interior design style in 3 words:

Layered. Classic. Refined.

Q: What was the vision behind the space we photographed together?

The homeowner wanted a traditional feel, while her husband leaned more rustic and didn’t want anything too “girly.” To balance their styles, I leaned into a cozy cottage vibe with a few rustic elements, then layered in modern touches through the furniture and artwork.

Q: Any favorite design moments or details in the project?

Absolutely, incorporating vintage pieces was a favorite moment. The homeowner wanted that “old world” charm, and I love mixing old and new. It adds warmth, personality, and makes the home feel truly lived-in.

Q: Where d you find inspiration for your interior design work?

Whenever I travel, I pay close attention to architectural details—hotels, historic buildings, you name it. I also collect a lot of design books and study interiors from both past and present to better understand what makes a space feel timeless, not trendy.

Q: What’s your favorite part of the interior design process?

Styling, hands down! It’s like adding the whipped cream and cherry on top of the sundae, it elevates everything. That final layer is when a home’s personality really comes alive.

Q: One design trend you’re loving right now, and one you're ready to retire?

I love color drenching. It might be an overused term these days, but I don’t think it will ever truly go out of style. On the flip side, I’m so over veined porcelain tile being used everywhere. It has its place, but when it’s plastered on every surface, it’s just too much.
