What I Do as a DFW Photographer for Interiors, Branding, Architecture, and more!

Here’s what I’m all about:

  • Interior Design Photography: I shoot spaces that are full of personality, whether it’s eclectic, modern, or somewhere in between, I make sure the vibe of the space and the color really pops.

  • Brand Photography: Your brand is your vibe. If you’re quirky, creative, and unapologetically you, I’ll make sure that comes through in every shot.

  • Architecture Photography: I’m here to capture every angle, every detail, from the big picture to the tiny moments that make your design unique.

  • Commercial Photography: Whether you're showcasing products or spaces, I’m here to create images that work for your business. I’m all about showcasing what you do in a way that’s authentic to who you are, meaningful, and photogenic.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with all sorts of creatives across DFW, from Dallas to Fort Worth, Frisco, Grapevine, and even Prosper. Each space has its own vibe, and I make sure to capture that uniqueness. If you’re tired of the same old beige and tired trends, you’ve come to the right place.

Past Projects Across DFW: From Fort Worth to Grapevine and Beyond

Here’s a quick look at some of my recent projects around DFW:

  • Travis Pernell Interiors in Fort Worth: Travis, a U.S. Air Force vet turned interior designer, brought his modern-meets-traditional style to a formal dining room I had the pleasure of photographing. With an elegant chandelier and thoughtful design elements, this space came to life through his vision. You can read more about the shoot and Travis's work in the full blog post.

  • Southlake Textile Manufacturer Photography for United Phoenix Designs: I spent the day photographing Nancy Vegel, the talented owner of United Phoenix Designs, who specializes in custom textiles. From drapery to pillows, Nancy’s craftsmanship is top-notch. I got to learn about her business and the challenges facing the textile industry. If you're a DFW interior designer looking for custom textiles, I highly recommend Nancy’s work! You can check out more of her interior photography shoot on the blog

The Struggles and Wins of Shooting Across DFW

Every shoot teaches me something new, and that’s what makes it fun. Lighting always presents its own challenges, and every space presents its own unique complications that have to be overcome. That’s where my hospitality training and creative problem-solving skills kicks in. I’m not afraid to try something new, pivot, or roll with the punches even to find the magic in anything that comes my way.

Take my Prosper shoot for Britney Ratto Interiors. We started with a branding session, focusing on candid photo-journalistic style shots of her doing her thing. That’s the beauty of being a DFW photographer, I’m all about being flexible, being creative, and getting the right shot no matter what. The result? Photos that feel like the space, the people, and the brand. Perfect.

A Look at the Prosper Shoot for Britney Ratto Interiors

So, let’s break down what a photography session looks like when you book with me, using my Prosper shoot with Britney Ratto Interiors as an example.

We were shooting the TEG Engineering Firm project, and let me tell you, this space told you exactly who works there the minute you walk through the door. It was bold, vibrant, and full of life, a perfect reflection of Britney’s and the engineering managing partner’s style. The goal here wasn’t just to snap a few photos; it was to bring the vibrancy and energy energy of her design to life in a way that felt authentic to her brand.

Step 1: Branding Shoot First, Interiors After

We started with the branding shoot first. Focusing on genuine moments that captured her energy, passion for design, and her client experience process. This is where I get to show the heart of your brand and the vibe behind your work. It’s not about looking “perfect” but making sure you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Once we had that vibe locked down, we dove right into the interior design shoot, and that’s where the magic really happened.

Step 2: Letting Your Space Shine

When it comes to interiors, I’m all about capturing the essence of the space, bringing out the details that tell the story of your design. For this shoot, one of Britney’s standout features was the cowboy hat wall in the main workroom. Yup, you read that right, a cowboy hat wall. These weren’t just random hats. They were sourced from family members and close family friends, each with their own unique story. I love it when design gets personal.

Step 3: Bringing the Feel of the Space to Life

Brittney’s vision was clear: she wanted the office to reflect the people who work there every day. She wanted the space to feel welcoming, comfortable, and fresh, a place that people actually wanted to spend large amounts of time in in.

And she nailed it. The space was bold but still warm and inviting. It had personality. I really think that came through in the photos, and I think this might be my favorite gallery I’ve delivered. That’s exactly what I aim to capture in every project I shoot: the essence of the space, the vibe of the people, and the story behind the design.

Final Thoughts and Tips for Your DFW Photography Shoot

Alright, if you’re getting ready for your own DFW photography session, here are some quick tips:

  • Clean up: The camera sees everything. No dirty windows or dusty floors, please. Make sure to give your space a thorough cleaning before I arrive.

  • Style your space: It doesn’t need to be perfect, but make sure it looks intentional. Remove any homeowner effects the day before our session and replace them with decor that is strongly in line with your aesthetic.

  • Dress comfortably: For brand shoots, wear something that feels like you, in your brand colors, one outfit should be polished and professional, one is your go-to errand running ensemble, and the last one can be more comfortable and playful

  • Bring extra styling pieces: You never know when that extra styling item will make all the difference.

  • Lighting matters: We will focus on photographing the East facing rooms first, to take advantage of the good natural light, and we will use modifiers and artificial lights to add or modify light if need be.
