A masterclass in compromise, this East Texas home merges traditional elegance with rustic sensibility.

Brittney was tasked with blending a homeowner’s love for timeless, traditional interior design and her husband’s preference for something more rustic and less “girly” (his words, not mine)

Brittney found herself gravitating to the quiet charm of cottage decor, and that’s when the Modern Cottage project came to life.

The result? A layered, lived-in space where vintage finds nod to the past, rustic finishes ground the palette, and modern furnishings add just enough edge. It’s equal parts old-world romance and down-to-earth comfort, tailored to reflect both personalities under one thoughtfully designed roof.
