Colour PopHaus by Citizen Nomad takes a decidedly different approach to the neutral interiors that have dominated residential design in recent years.
Designed as part of Citizen Nomad’s collection of travel-inspired spaces, the Dallas townhouse embraces color, art, and eclectic furnishings to create an interior that feels collected rather than prescribed.
European influence runs throughout the home, but the design is less about recreating a particular place than capturing the experience of one. Saturated color, vintage-inspired furniture, original artwork, books, sculptural objects, and playful combinations give the rooms the personality of a well-traveled home.
A Study in Color and Contrast
Color is an obvious part of the story here, but what makes the interior interesting is how deliberately it has been balanced.
Deep burgundy appears alongside shades of green. Warm wood and woven rattan soften painted surfaces. Velvet introduces richness, while white walls and cabinetry give the more expressive pieces room to stand apart.
Rather than repeating one palette throughout the townhouse, Citizen Nomad uses recurring relationships between color, material, and form to create continuity.
The result is layered without feeling chaotic.

Photographing Colour PopHaus
Photographing a space with this much personality requires deciding not only what the rooms look like, but what makes them distinctive.
The wider compositions establish the architecture and relationships between spaces, while the closer photographs concentrate on the combinations that give Colour PopHaus its identity: velvet against rattan, colorful glassware arranged along the bar, books layered with objects, artwork framed by saturated furnishings, and moments of color repeated throughout the rooms.
Those details are an important part of the visual story because they reveal the decisions behind the larger design.
My goal when photographing an interior is to create a gallery that does both: document the complete space and preserve the smaller decisions that communicate the designer's point of view.
A Different Kind of Dallas Interior
Colour PopHaus demonstrates how memorable interiors can emerge from allowing individual elements to have their own personality.
Nothing here depends on perfect matching. Instead, color, art, furniture, and collected objects build on one another to create a home that feels expressive, layered, and intentionally individual.
For a hospitality property, that distinct point of view becomes especially important. The design isn't simply the backdrop for the experience. It is part of the experience itself.
