Texas Interiors Photography: Inside Nikki Chu’s Stunning Dallas Renovation

I really loved this perspective from Nikki’s dining room into the living room. Nikki raised the ceilings, added numerous skylights, wrapped and added exposed beams, and poured concrete floors throughout the living spaces.

I’m a big believer in creating your own opportunity, and the stars really aligned for me when I received the text message that would lead to the opportunity to photograph Nikki Chu’s gorgeous Texas home.

In January, I received a text message from an acquaintance I met last fall while building my interior design photography portfolio. It basically said, “Hi Stacy! My friend Nikki’s an interior designer and she’s looking for a photographer for her house and product lines. Here’s here number. Give her a call.”

I was out walking my dog around the neighborhood, so planned to call her once I was returned home. It turned out I didn’t need to because I got a text 15 minutes later from Nikki asking if I was available to photograph her home and to give her a call. Once we spoke on the phone about her project, I booked a walk through to see the space in person. Nikki made the move to Texas from Los Angeles during the pandemic, and had just finished a long renovation of her home.

When I arrived for her walkthrough, I was utterly blown away by how stunningly beautiful it is. Not only is she an incredibly talented interior designer, she’s also a graphic designer, artist, and product designer. She has created and launched lines of furniture and home decor products with big brands like One King’s Lane, Z Gallerie, RoomMates Decor, and Art.com.

From colorful wall art, area rugs, custom furniture, and bedding, Nikki has designed, created, and brought it to all market and its beautifully displayed in every single room in her house.

The view from the front entryway into Nikki’s stunningly beautiful kitchen renovation, showcasing the wall of custom white cabinets that house her food and appliances, her waterfall marble countertop, and brass fixtures.

Our session together was really about showcasing the dramatic structural changes she made to her home during the lengthy renovation process, but we also needed to capture plenty of vignettes and detail shots showing off her product lines. Nikki is truly gifted at interior styling, and she did an incredible job styling all of her products throughout her house.

This home is a total showstopper, it was a long photoshoot day, and it went by in a flash. We managed to capture so much, here are some of my favorite photos taking during her session.
