About the Studio
Based in Flower Mound, Chelsea Dunn Design is a full-service interior design studio creating inviting, functional homes throughout Northern DFW.
Chelsea's approach begins with how her clients actually live. Thoughtful floor plans and well-made, long-lasting materials create the foundation, while color, pattern, and carefully considered finishes bring personality and individuality to each space.
Rather than designing around passing trends, Chelsea focuses on creating homes that feel comfortable, personal, and enduring, spaces meant to be lived in and enjoyed for years to come.

The Path to Interior Design
What drew you to interior design?
I've always been fascinated by how people live.
When I was a kid, I loved driving at night and getting a glimpse of the interiors of homes with the shades open. I was also always redesigning my bedroom and rearranging furniture.
Three years ago, I finally made the leap and turned that lifelong interest into a career in interior design.

Behind the Process
What's your favorite part of the design process?
Floor planning and finish selections.
Finding Inspiration
Where do you find inspiration?
Everywhere.
Recently, the textures and colors of a flower bed inspired ideas for a living room.
Trends
One design trend you're loving, and one you're ready to retire?
I don't follow or like trends, so I have no idea what is even trending right now.
For me, design is less about what's popular at the moment and more about creating spaces that feel right for the people who live in them.
Portfolio Highlights
Working Together
Chelsea is always such a pleasure to work with, and one of the things I look forward to most when photographing her projects is seeing how she has brought color, pattern, and material together in a completely new way.
Every project feels different, yet there is a consistency in how thoughtfully she layers a space. I'm continually impressed by the combinations of materials, colors, textures, and patterns she chooses and how naturally they work together without ever feeling overdone.
What I especially appreciate about Chelsea's work is that those choices aren't made simply for visual impact. Woven throughout each project are details that feel deeply personal to the homeowners, giving the spaces a sense of individuality that goes beyond a particular aesthetic or trend.
It's one of the reasons her projects are so enjoyable to photograph. There is always another layer to discover, whether it's an unexpected material pairing, a beautiful use of color, or a small detail that tells you something about the people who call the space home.
